This is A Country for Old Men.  A place where everybody may be old but nobody’s in the way.  A gathering place where men of experience can examine matters of mortality, immortality, morality, immorality and things less important but more interesting.

 

When a man crosses into the sixth decade, three score and some odd until he quits counting, there is supposed to be some wisdom gathered along with all the memories that attach to a long life.  This website is dedicated to examining morsels of truth & delight gathered along our way.  The majority may be mostly my own ruminations and revisionist history, but I’m hoping to attract some other old men along the way to chime in on the conversation.  Old men get isolated by age, infirmity, loss and lack of surprise at the world.  We can only fish or golf so much before we end up with just the TV.   We sit back in the rocker or recliner and wait for some of our old friends to call . We never realize they’re waiting on us to pick up the phone or drop by.   All directions are equidistant from nowhere. 

 

This website is dedicated to reaching out and bridging isolation and lonliness with some nostalgia, humor and new ways of looking at things none of us may have thought of yet.  Not everyone goes through life in a linear fashion.  Some of us go caddy cornered.
